What’s Really Important When Getting Your Ex Back?

An important question, I’m sure you’ll agree. When you’re trying to get over a broken heart, it’s easy to lose perspective on things. Sensible, level headed thinking can be difficult when a situation is so emotionally charged.

The most important thing, to keep in perspective, is your approach to the situation. If you can keep up your positivity and avoid letting the experience change you, you should find you’re well on the way to getting your ex back.

Stay Positive

In other words, be nice. Letting negative thoughts spill into your behaviors is likely to drive your ex away from you, lightning fast. Your attitude is crucial and at the heart of everything else that happens.

If your ex has a perception that you are nagging, complaining or just being plain rude, it’ll be enough to make them want to get further away from you. Whereas, if they can see you for the considerate, thoughtful person you know you are, then you have a much better chance of getting back together.

Plus, if you can stay positive during a tough situation, you’ll grow in character and resilience. This’ll make you stronger, no matter what else happens.

If you’ve just been through a breakup, you’re probably wondering, ‘Can I get my ex boyfriend back?” at least several times a day. Every relationship is different, so every break up is different. But there are some things you can do to help get him back.

Don’t Let The Experience Change You

Don’t let things get on top of you and change the essence of your character. Your approach, to each and every situation, will shape your chances of getting back together. It was you that your partner fell in love with, so don’t let bitterness or an over eagerness to please get in the way.

Remember, it’s no good for you to pretend to be someone you’re not. Not only will this be difficult to keep up, it’ll leave you in a very strange place if the relationship restarts. You’ll have to keep up the illusion indefinitely. This’ll become incredibly frustrating, very quickly.

Besides, if you need to change yourself to maintain compatibility with your ex, you may as well start looking for someone else to make you happy. It’s unlikely that you’ll get the happiness you need from a relationship where you have to create a fake version of yourself.

Don’t Let The Positive You Slip

Keeping up a positive attitude, without changing your essence, will have a huge influence on your ability to get back together with your ex, but it doesn’t stop there. If you can keep up these wonderful personal traits, there’s no end to the benefits it’ll bring.

Maintain them after your relationship starts and you’ll have the hallmarks of a healthy, happy relationship, as long as you can both take this approach. Make sure you share the secrets of this with your partner and support each other to stay in this zone.

Remember, being successful at maintaining positivity during difficult times should make it easier to stay positive the rest of the time. If you can put a difficult break up into perspective, life’s little annoyances should just bounce off you. So, it’ll be useful to keep in mind next time you’re stuck in a queue or heavy traffic!

There are so many painful emotions swirling around your head, after a break up. Each of those swirling emotions brings its own questions. Questions like “What Shall I do to get my ex back” and “How do I get over a broken heart”, among others, can easily bubble around your head.

With so much stuff mixing up, inside your head, it’s easy to lose perspective. So, here are some things to steer you in the right direction. Make sure you don’t fall into any of these making up traps.

Don’t Be Preoccupied

It’s easy to let all those swirling thoughts and emotions take over, and they will, if you let things go unchecked. Try to keep a sense of perspective about things. It hurts, but you will be putting steps in place to get over your broken heart. Focus on the positive things you can do, as much as possible.

If you spend too much time being wrapped up in your own world of pain, you’ll start to alienate other people in your life too. Your friends and family will be happy to support you, but people who become too preoccupied risk the future of that support. Make time for their needs too.

Don’t Play Games

Whatever you do, don’t play games with your ex’s emotions. Remember, they’re likely to be going through the same process as you and it’s painful. So, they may be quite easy to manipulate, but any gain you get out of this will be short lived. It’s certainly not a good basis on which to restart a new relationship.

Avoid any actions which you know won’t benefit your relationship, such as pretending to have a new relationship. Eventually the bad feeling of tricking someone will catch up with you, whether or not you get back together. Of course, if your ex finds out you’ve been lying, it’s almost definitely over!

Don’t Be Mean

While this would apply at any time, it’s especially important in the aftermath of a break up. If you let your irrational emotional state affect your behavior it’s going to leave a particularly bitter taste in your ex’s mouth.

If you can’t control your emotions yet, it’s definitely too early to be considering a reunion. Even if you’re hurt you need to be able to discuss it, reasonably, with your ex. Be prepared to forgive and offer forgiveness with equal grace. If you can’t do that right now, either wait until you can, or move on.

Don’t Forget There’s Help

There are lots of forms of help out there, if you’re struggling with a break up. Put foolish pride aside, if you look there’s suitable help for anyone, that can focus on you feel, as well as what can be done to put things right. You’ll be surprised how much support you can get, if you know where to look.
